“To The Cross…”

Pastor Ed and I are continuing our trek forward “to the cross” in this Lenten journey, and we hope that you are gaining so type of inspiration from it.  It has certainly uplifted my spirits as I have studied, and, as I have listened to Pastor Ed’s preaching during this wonderfully contemplative time.  We hope you can continue to join us on Sundays and Wednesdays for opportunities based on the theme, “To the Cross and Through the Cross.”

It is to the cross we go this Lent.  From many angles (with great help from the 2nd Lessons and Gospels for these Lenten Sundays), we look up to the cross, bearing the Son of God, in all His passion and pain—and yet, upon that cross we sense victory as we ponder the days to come of Holy Week and Easter!

Through the work of Jesus Christ upon that cross we are able to go “through the cross”—that is—forward into each new day with renewed strength and blessing that only He can give us—onward even into the eternal, unknown and yet, glorious!

In your continued Lenten disciplines, consider attending the morning worships on Sunday and the Wednesday opportunities offered to you (one at noon and the other at 6:45 p.m.).  Holy Week (fast approaching) is full of many other wonderful chances to experience the divine – more will be said about that later (right now you can read about them in your newsletters).

Thanks everyone for an inspiring Lent so far!  You are such good people and we love you all very much!  Know that you are always loved by God, and His grace never leaves you!

God loves you and so do I!

Pastor Jim
