Pressing on….

“Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.” (Philippians 3:12)

I have met with my surgeon this week, and he has released me from his care! That’s good! However, he has said that I am still under certain restrictions which keep me away from hospitals and situations with crowds. Since I am susceptible to catching something, I won’t be able to go to the synod assembly this year.

Yard work and other such things – things I love to do – are still out of the question! This is my 7th week of “being sequestered,” and it is beginning to get hard to “stay put” – but, due to doctor’s orders, I must comply.

I will be back at work on a limited basis. I’ll be working a few hours a day and resting parts of those days as well. Thank you all for your patience in these times, as I try to “press on” with the goodness and grace that God showers upon me and be thankful for the amazing healing that has happened since April 10th (day of my heart surgery).

God’s blessings upon you as we all “press on” for the higher goal of our Lord Jesus Christ, His gift of salvation that He has shared with us and we are called to share with the world!

God loves you and so do I!

Pastor Jim
