“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? (Matthew 25:37)

We know the answer to this question from a parable of our Lord Jesus. “Whenever you did it to the least of these people, you were doing it to Me.”

The past two weeks and the next week, we are challenging everyone with this kind of message. Did you know that everything you do through the Church – feeding, clothing, sheltering, and comforting – immediately and directly affects the community of people around us. But think on this as well – what you share: your time, your various talents, and your monetary gifts – you ultimately share them with Jesus Himself.

Our Lord Jesus said a number of wonderful things and performed some amazing, unexplainable feats of power – all of them geared to meet the need of the above invitation. Here in this e-letter, in your weekly bulletins, and in your most recent newsletter (as well as the most recently received quarterly statement via the US postal service that included a financial commitment card for 2014), we have provided you the opportunity to respond to this divine offer to serve. We would love it if you could return your commitment cards by the end of this month, preferably by November 24.

This Sunday (November 17), we invite you to return your Time and Talent information either through the web-site or by filling out a hard copy (copies that are in the narthex and the fellowship hall) as soon as you can. This really helps our leadership in their planning for ministry in 2014. Thanks for taking the time to do this for us. It only takes a few minutes.

Also, on Sunday, November 24, we are inviting you to do one more thing: bring canned goods to be brought forward and placed around the altar so that those who are hungry this holiday season may be fed. What great way to celebrate the bounty we have received by sharing it with others! And remember, (as Scripture has said) when you share of your wealth, you share it with Him.
Thanks again, for all that you do!

God loves you and so do we!

Pastor Jim
