“Remember your creator…”

“Remember your creator…”

Ecclesiastes 12:1 – Remember your creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come, and the years draw near when you will say, “I have no pleasure in them.”

In the new movie, “Noah,” critics have said that God is never mentioned.  However, Noah refers to “the Creator” often. (I’ve seen the movie.)  I find it interesting that even the Bible itself calls upon the Lord as “creator” from time-to-time.  He is many things—Savior, Healer, Judge, Ruler, Peace Giver, and yes, Creator.  He has many, many names.  We are to love them all!

This weekend, the youth and their families of Our Saviour will gather at church for many reasons.  First of all, at 10 a.m., Pastor Ed and I will gather with three of our children of the parish:  Annabelle Myers, Logan Hopper, and Aubrey Sutphin.  We will meet and talk about Holy Communion, preparing them for their first communion on Palm Sunday, April 13th. Our parish nurse, Bonnie Koepper, will also meet with them as they will prepare the bread that will be used for their first experience.   Would you say a little prayer for them as this is a very important day in their faith journey?  Thank you for that!

Second, there is our first annual “Spring Fling.”  This is happening at 5 p.m. on Saturday.  There will be all kinds of fun and food, with a bit of a surprise at the end!  Everyone is welcome – you’ll need to come and see, and, please—bring your friends!  Pray that this will reach people and bless them!

Thirdly, our youth of OSLC will take the leadership of one service on Sunday, at 10:45 a.m.  It has been awhile since the youth have led a worship service.  We are begging your indulgence on behalf of our youth to attending this one, single service for April 6.  Our youth need our love and support, so, please make a special effort to come and experience the creative work of God through our young people!    They’re working hard to make this an inspiring experience for all! Pray, a third time—if you would—that God’s Spirit will be behind them all the way!

This weekend, remember your creator in the days of your youth, through our children, through our youth, and through their creative worship that they have prepared for God.  Come and see, and know, that God is all things—creator, redeemer, and sustainer—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—all the things we need to live and live abundantly!

Remember that God loves you and so do we!

Pastor Jim
